RENEWABLE CELLULOSIC ETHANOL

Synergy Solutions produces fuel-grade cellulosic ethanol, a 100% renewable advanced biofuel, for fuel blenders and distributors. Our waste-to-energy process uses sugar-based waste products that would otherwise be destined for our landfills and sewer systems.

Advanced biofuels, also known as second-generation biofuels, are an important next step in clean fuel technology. They help solve many of the problems of first-generation crop-based ethanol and can supply a larger proportion of our fuel supply sustainably, affordably, and with greater environmental benefits such as:

  • No impact on domestic food supply
  • Cheaper conversion process
  • Increased greenhouse gas emissions savings

Ethanol is used by major oil companies as a clean-air additive in their gasoline blends to meet the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS). Ethanol is a renewable fuel which has many benefits:

  • Reduces tail-pipe emissions, greenhouse gases, and carbon dioxide emissions
  • Reduces ground-level ozone (a major component of urban smog)
  • Reduces independence on foreign oil
